Understanding Tiered Bracket vs Traditional Bracket:
TRADITIONAL BRACKET -
Each team plays all other teams in the bracket at least once. Remaining rematches are random. Standings are at true reflection of 1st, 2nd, etc.
TIERED BRACKET - Teams generally play other teams closest to them more than once, as well as some teams from above or below to fill in 8 games. Often the strongest or most advanced team(s) will not play the newest or least experienced team(s). Standings are not a true reflection of ranking. (See example below) It is best to look at the match details and what teams were played. Tier is based on previous standings as well as other factors such as overall age of the team or how long they have been together.

In this example, the Top 3 teams are actually Mousketeers, Disco Queens and Coyotes. They all played each other twice, as well as teams from the middle of the group once. Predators show a finish of 2nd place, however the majority of their games were against the bottom 4 teams. Meaning they had a more realistic finish of 4th place.
